Date: Saturday, December 12, 2020
Hours: 9 am – 4:00 pm
Location:  ONLINE via Zoom
CEs: 6 CEs

This workshop explores our relationship to daily stressors (e.g., work, home, school, etc.), the impact they have (e.g., physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual), and the ethical responsibilities of self-care faced by mental health clinicians. It is designed to illuminate the various types of stress experienced by mental health providers, and to demystify the concepts and applications of “self-care”. Topics will include: stress management, work/life balance, vicarious stress, secondary trauma, counter-transference, compassion fatigue, and occupational burnout. These areas will be examined through the hands-on application of creative and expressive arts, offering practical exercises for mental health clinicians to apply to their personal self-care routines.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will have an understanding of the ethical responsibilities of self-care and stress-management
  2. Participants will learn about the different types of stress and the impact on professional and personal health
  3. Participants will learn practical applications of self-care
  4. Participants will engage in hands-on creative arts activities to process didactic material

Due to the precautions necessary to prevent the spread of the  COVID-19 virus, we have decided not to hold our workshops in the Studio. Since can’t accommodate the social distancing required by the authorities in our hands-on workshops, we are moving our in-person workshops online to be presented as an interactive webinar until we are certain we can safely offer you a creative, hands-on experience in our studio.

We will ship you a box of art supplies for the day, and all you’ll need to do is log on to Zoom (free application) and join us so you’ll be able to get your 6 Ethics CEs on time! We consistently hear from participants that our ethics workshop is the best experience they have had getting their required CEs, online or in-person!

You will receive the Zoom access link and materials box about 1 week prior to the workshop date.

NOTE: Please enter your preferred mailing address when you register!

Cancellation Policy: We require cancellation notification at least 2 weeks prior to the workshop date for the online Ethics of Self-Care.
