Join us on Friday for an evening that includes review of a variety of methods for individual and group dreamwork that you practiced in Level II (a prerequisite for this workshop), more discussion about individual dream language, individual and group exercises with visual Dream-Arts, extraordinary dream categories, and a discussion of 14 approaches to dreams and PTSD nightmares.

Rejoin us Saturday morning to dive deeper into group dreamwork, review extraordinary dreams in a game, and hone your skills in literary and dramatic Dream-Arts exercises inspired by Gestalt and Psychodrama.

Description

Dreamwork and Dream-Arts are helpful doorways to individual and group creativity, which leads to healing and personal growth. This workshop offers various methods of dreamwork and creative dream expression for both individual and group work. Lecture and discussion will lead to experiential group and individual activities. Bring your dream journal if you have one. Together we will cultivate a respectful space for creative dream exploration, and you will gain valuable new tools for your practice. Background for Dreamwork and Dream-Artsincludes Kilton Stewart’s Senoi Dream Theory, Montague Ullman’s Appreciating Dreams group method (aka The Ullman Method), Fritz Perls’ Gestalt Dreamwork, Gayle Delaney’s Dream Interview Method, Wilma Scategni’s Dream Psychodrama, and Angel Morgan’s Dream-Bridging Method with Dream-Arts.

This is part three of a three part Dream-Arts Certificate.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the healing power of dream sharing.
  2. Utilize a variety of methods for individual dreamwork.
  3. Utilize a variety of methods for group dreamwork.
  4. Identify the dream language of individual dreamers.
  5. Create Dream-Arts through the process of Dream-Bridging.
  6. Explain how Gestalt psychology, Dream Psychodrama, and Improvisational Dream Theater can intersect to help dreamers find insight, healing, and wholeness.

Final Assignment to complete the Dream-Arts Certificate:

Write a 500 – 1,000 word essay in APA style (see Publication Manual of the APA, 7th ed.) describing what you have learned about Dreamwork and Dream-Arts during this 3 part series of workshops in relation to something that stands out to you in one (or more) of the required books listed above.


Angel Morgan, Ph.D. founded Dreambridge (thedreambridge.com) in 2008. She
specializes in dreams, creativity, and the connection between the two (Dream-Arts).
She has worked with adults, children, teens, and parents as a Dream-Arts educator
since 1995. An interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker, she received her Ph.D. in
Psychology after completing the Dream Studies and Creativity Studies programs at
Saybrook University. Before that, she received an M.A. in Human Development from
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a B.A. in Theater, Film, and Television from
UCLA, and is a graduate of the Idyllwild Arts Academy.


If you are outside of Washington State, we advise that you check with your state licensing board to confirm that they accept NBCC approved CEs.  This workshop offers 6 CEs for Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Social Workers.
