This workshop encourages participants to examine their life journey by reflecting on the experiences their hands have encountered. Individuals seek out clinicians and facilitators to delve into their stories and uncover deeper meanings in their lives. This session aims to foster a greater appreciation of one’s life journey, thereby gaining insights into supporting others as they share their feelings of sadness, pain, loss, scars, and the complex beauty of their experiences.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will learn skills to explore and express resilience through hands-on activities.
- Participants will gain confidence in using water color, collage and writing with clients.
- Participants will expand their toolbox using gratitude when working with others.
Required & Suggested Materials
- Mixed media paper (8×12) or, art journal that is mixed media, or water color paper
- Water color paints (at least 3 different colors)
- Water
- A few paint brushes
- Journal
- Black pen suitable for writing on paint (signo uniball or micron or good options)
- Magazines to collage with
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional: Markets, colored pens/pencils, crayons
