Whether we identify as trans, non-binary, cisgender, or fall somewhere else on the gender spectrum, we all navigate gender through the social scripts we’ve been given throughout our lives. In this workshop, we’ll explore how our experiences with gender might change if we challenge and expand the narratives we’ve been taught. Through art, writing, and discussion, we’ll examine our work with gender-diverse clients, reflecting on our own positionality to enhance and broaden the support we offer. By doing so, we can develop more inclusive and effective interventions for those we serve.
This workshop is aimed at providing a space for clinicians to traverse beyond the gender binary to support their clients who are trans, nonbinary, and exploring. It will give you creative tools to use in your work with gender diverse clients. This workshop meets the criteria for multicultural competency continuing education credits.

- Participants will become familiar with gender expansiveness, trans and nonbinary experiences, and introduction to expressive arts.
