Mural Arts: Painting for Social Change

Join the powerful tradition of mural-making as a tool for activism!Murals have long been used to tell stories, amplify voices, and inspire change. In this immersive week, you’ll gain the skills to design and lead your own mural project, transforming walls into bold statements for justice.
What You’ll Do:Â
> Explore the History of Mural Art – See how murals have been used worldwide for activism and community storytelling.
> Develop a Collective Vision – Work with fellow artists to design a mural with a meaningful social justice message.
> Master Mural Techniques – Learn large-scale drawing, the grid method, and how to use projectors.
> Work as a Team – Ensure every participant leaves their unique mark while contributing to a unified piece.
> Learn the Essentials – Understand the best paints, materials, and finishes for murals that last indoors and outdoors.
By the end of the week, you’ll have contributed to a large-scale artwork and leave empowered with the skills to create murals that make an impact. And you’ll get a Creative Warriors T-shirt too!
*For our older teens, we weave in a training component that will help them feel empowered to share this work with others. They will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the week.
