Legacy Work invites participants to explore the art of honoring life stories, both their own and those of the people they serve, through story, music, and movement. This workshop offers an experiential journey into legacy as a living, evolving process rather than a fixed destination. Participants will engage in practices drawn from drama therapy and music therapy that cultivate presence, spontaneity, and embodied awareness, discovering how creative expression can transform moments into memories. Whether working with individuals in life transitions or supporting personal growth in the present moment, Legacy Work enriches professional practice with creativity, compassion, and authentic expression, celebrating the ongoing legacy that unfolds through every breath, gesture, and shared story.
Learning objectives
- Participants will be able to utilize grounding techniques to anchor in the present moment.
- Participants will be able to understand legacy as it develops during a lifetime through key moments.
- Participants will discover the benefits of mind-body connection as a pathway for authentic self-expression.
- Participants will learn how to utilize improvised story, movement, and other expressive tools of discovery.
- Participants will learn to recognizing the myth of permanence and discuss building skills of acceptance.
- Participants will examine approaches to legacy work as a meaningful way to embrace life’s impermanence.

Earning Continuing Education Credits
To receive a CE Certificate for completion of this workshop, you must officially register, attend the workshop in its entirety and complete an evaluation form after the workshop. The evaluation form is emailed to you by the following Friday of the workshop. After completing & submitting the evaluation form, a CE Certificate will be emailed to you within 5-7 business days.
Who is eligible to receive CEs?
- Nationally: Approved NBCC Provider for Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Social Workers (you are responsible for confirming that your organization/state will accept NBCC credits.)
- New York Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCATs)
- Washington State School Counselor/Teacher (OSPI) Approved by the Washington State Office of Public Instruction as a “Washington State approved clock hour offering workshop.”
- If you are outside of Washington State, we advise that you check with your state licensing board to confirm that they accept NBCC Approved CEs.
