This workshop provides practical strategies for using expressive arts to foster emotional resilience in children and teens. Participants will explore a variety of modalities, including visual arts, music, movement, and creative writing, learning how to adapt these techniques to address specific challenges such as anxiety stress, and low self-esteem. This workshop is ideal for therapists, counselors, educators, and anyone working with young people.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the core components of emotional resilience and their importance in child and adolescent development.
- Describe the theoretical underpinnings of expressive arts therapy and its application to building resilience.
- Utilize a range of expressive arts techniques (visual arts, music, movement, writing) to address specific emotional challenges in children and teens.
- Adapt and modify expressive arts activities to suit different age groups and developmental levels.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for children and teens to explore their emotions through creative expression.
- Develop strategies for integrating expressive arts into existing arts for children and teens to learn practical ways for coping and processing.
