The Clinical Application of SoulPages® Facilitation
Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute and SoulPages® are excited to offer this advanced module as
part of your SoulPages® Facilitation journey. This learning opportunity focuses on applying the SoulPages® technique in clinical settings with individuals and groups. Participants will earn the SoulPages® Therapist Certificate and 15 Continuing Education Credits (CEs).
Rakefet’s facilitator program includes rich material that aligns beautifully with the Expressive Arts Therapy approach. This module is designed specifically for licensed therapists and clinical professionals participating in the facilitator training who wish to deepen their clinical use of SoulPages®.
When you sign up for the SoulPages® Therapist Certificate, in addition to completing the SoulPages® Facilitator Training, you will receive direct training instruction and case-based application with Theresa Soltzberg.
This direct training will focus on the following Objectives (10 CEs):
- Setting Clinical Intentions
- Introducing SoulPages® in a therapeutic context
- Integrating SoulPages® with evidence-based practices
- Voice Dialogue Technique (VDT) in Therapy
- Using VDT clinically
- Exploring related methods: non-dominant hand dialogue, archetypes, and Internal Family Systems
- Adapting Art Materials for Clinical Use
- Modifying materials based on space, time, population
- Real-world case examples and adaptations
- Processing the SoulPages® Spread
- Harvesting meaning that connects to clients’ presenting issues
- Enhancing the Process with Other Modalities
- Integrating somatic awareness, movement, poetry, sculpture, and music
- Case Study Demonstration
- Present a brief clinical process adapted for two distinct populations
- Parts Work and Intermodal Practice
- Applying expressive arts, VDT, and IFS approaches in therapy
There is also an Home Study (Asynchronous Coursework) module component to round-out your training and certification.
This hands-on workshop offers the participant some simple, yet powerful, expressive arts tools for youth to adult age clients. Participants will learn how to use suggested materials and activities with confidence. The Expressive Arts can be used to enhance your existing skills, whether action-oriented or process-oriented.
Expressive Arts Therapy utilizes a multi-arts approach that focuses on the creative process and art-making, combining the visual arts, movement, drama, music, and writing to foster deep personal growth and community development. The tools presented in this module of the certificate program are designed so that even with limited resources and space, a clinician can have a variety options.
This module will focus on visual arts and writing. No experience in the arts is necessary.
Introduction to Expressive Arts Therapy & Facilitation (1 CE)
- Participants will explore the foundations and philosophy of expressive arts
- Participants will learn how to support creative freedom while maintaining safety
- Participants will learn how to witness and process expressive work
- Participants will learn how to navigate common facilitation challenges
Foundations of Creative Practice (1 CE)
- Participants will learn the benefits of ongoing creative practice
- Participants will gain understanding of the paradox of creativity
- Participants will learn to engage with the Inner Critic and Inner Wisdom
In addition, participants will be eligible for earning 3 CEs from the following sections of the SoulPages® Facilitator Training taught by Theresa,
Lesson 12: The Facilitator Roles
- Participants will learn how to apply the Artist, Facilitator, and Teacher roles to the Therapist role
- Participants will gain understanding of client challenges and clinical applications of SoulPages®
- Participants will be able to identify their strengths and areas for growth as a therapist using SoulPages®
Lesson 13: Dealing with Difficult Emotions
- Participants will gain understanding of group dynamics, projections, and trauma triggers
- Participants will learn techniques to regulate and refocus clients
- Participants will learn how to use SoulPages® materials to process emotional content safely

Earning Continuing Education Credits
To receive a CE Certificate for completion of this workshop, you must officially register, attend the workshop/program in its entirety and complete an evaluation form after the workshop/program. The evaluation form is emailed from NWCEAI. After completing & submitting the evaluation form, a CE Certificate will be emailed to you within 5-7 business days.
Who is eligible to receive CEs?
- Nationally: Approved NBCC Provider for Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Social Workers (you are responsible for confirming that your organization/state will accept NBCC credits.)
- New York Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCATs)
- California LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs
- Washington State School Counselor/Teacher (OSPI) Approved by the Washington State Office of Public Instruction as a “Washington State approved clock hour offering workshop.”
- If you are outside of Washington State, we advise that you check with your state licensing board to confirm that they accept NBCC Approved CEs.
Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed creative arts therapists. #CAT-0123.
Theresa Soltzberg is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs and maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Continuing Education Provider #146650: Workshop meets the qualifications for 15 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
