Creative Warriors: Summer Art Programs for Teens Ages 12-17

Join The Creative Warriors, an immersive summer art program designed for creative teens who want to explore self-expression, develop artistic skills, and connect with a community of like-minded young artists.

Through hands-on workshops, participants will experiment with a variety of media—painting, puppetry, mixed media, and more—while discovering the power of art for storytelling, activism, and personal growth, and FUN! Led by professional artists and facilitators from Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute, this program fosters confidence, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for the creative process.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, Creative Warriors is a space to take creative risks, find your artistic voice, and make lasting connections. Expect engaging projects, guest artist sessions, and a final showcase where participants can share their work with friends and family.

No previous art experience needed!

Program Details

When? Half-day, week-long programs Monday – Fridays mid July to late August
Where? The Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute Studio:
 Interbay Work Lofts: 1631 15^th Ave W, Seattle 98119

Tuition: $375 per person for each week-long, half-day program.

Includes expert instruction, all art materials, light snack, and a Creative Warriors T-shirt!

July 7-11 | Mix-It-Up: Exploring Gel Plate Printing + Collage
Ages 12-14: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages 15-17: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Join us for this exciting, hands-on art class and discover how gel plate printing and collage can help you express yourself in new and unexpected ways! You’ll leave with a collection of prints and collages that show off your creative style.

August 4-8 | Mural Arts: Painting for Social Change
Ages 12-14: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages 15-17:1:00pm – 4:00pm

By the end of the week, you’ll contribute to a large-scale artwork piece and leave empowered with the skills to create murals that make an impact. 

August 11-15 | Creative Arts: Performance & Storytelling

Ages 12-14: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages 15-17: 1:00pm – 4:00pm 

In this dynamic, hands-on week, you’ll work individually and collaboratively to bring an original performance to life. Using simple, accessible, and upcycled materials, you’ll design and create your own props, sets, and characters—developing a performance that reflects your collective imagination.

August 18-22 | Color Magic: Unlocking the Secrets of Color

Ages 12-14: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Ages 15-17: 1:00pm – 4:00pm 

Ever wondered how colors work together or why some color combos just pop? In this hands-on, experimental class, you’ll mix, explore, and play with colors like never before! No boring color wheels here—just creative discovery and tons of fun.
